Mechanical Engineering

TThe department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year 2007. The department offers B.E (Mechanical Engineering) from the academic year 1996 – 1997, M.E (Manufacturing Engineering) from the academic year 2013-2014 and. Our vision is to be an eminent Centre of Excellence in the field of Mechanical Engineering, where teaching, learning and research synergize to deliver technical education and scientific research for public good. Our mission is to create efficient Mechanical Engineers who can compete at the global level. We intend to do this by creating a research hub engaged in contemporary research in association with industries. The projects and hands-on activities are designed to foster a spirit of entrepreneurship among students and to enable a few to launch their own ventures.

The department has qualified and experienced faculty members; many of them are with Ph.D. degree. The faculty members actively engage in research and constantly publish papers in International and National Journals. The department regularly organizes technical workshops for the faculty members to expose them to emerging areas. The department has state-of-the art facilities for various laboratories, department library and classrooms to support e-learning. The department has a well equipped centralized workshop facility which caters to the needs of various departments. Guest lectures and industrial visits are periodically arranged for the students to supplement their curriculum. We strive for all round excellence in students, encouraging them in all extracurricular activities

The Mechanical Engineering department strives to be recognized as an excellent academic and research centre for creating outstanding Engineers, Entrepreneurs and Leaders

  • Scope and Opportunities of the Department

  • A Mechanical Engineer’s job nature will change according to the type and domain in which they are working in the field of specialization. A Mechanical engineer works how to design and control a system for manufacturing the machinery and product. They test new systems for feasibility, efficiency and carry out quality management process.
  • In the field of automation Mechanical Engineer plays a vital role in controlling the systems with integrated Core and Coding knowledge.
  • Mechanical Engineers will be preferred effectively in any industry like automotive, aerospace, chemical, computer, communication, paper, power generation industries, steel plants, oil exploration and refining also in technical wings of armed forces.
  • Increasingly, Mechanical engineers are also needed in the environmental and bio-medical fields.
  • Mechanical Engineers seek employment in government departments like Posts and Telegraphs, Defense, PWD and CPWD. Other departments such as aeronautical, agricultural, automobile, chemical and power plants, as well as the railways.
  • Candidates with post graduate degree or an additional management degree could find job in administrative and managerial positions in government departments or public and private sectors.
  • Mechanical Engineers aspires to carry out research activities can work with many public and private research organizations. These engineers can also choose teaching profession in technical institutions
